Acoustooptic deflector is the significant component of the optical devices such as integrated optical spectrograph, tunable filter, scanner, convolver, correlator and optical switch etc. Acoustooptic deflector can be divided into collinear and non-collinear, bulky and wave-guided ,body devices and surface devices. A collinear acoustooptic-deflector of pronton-exchanged LiNbO3 channel wave-guide is studied.The theoretical analysis, structure design and device fabrication of LiNbO3 pronton-exchanged acoustooptic wave-guided deflector have been finished in this thesis. The width of wave-guide, the width, spacing, effective aperture and width of electrode of interdigital transduces have been theoretically analyzed and designed. Meanwhile, such parameters as diffraction efficiency, deflection angle and driving power of device have been analyzed and computed theoretically. Bezonic acid as pronton resource, the annealing pronton-exchanged LiNbO3 planar wave-guide and channel wave-guide have been manufactured, the mode refraction index of wave-guide tested, data analysis and curve matching achieved. What had been done and the suggestions presented in this thesis will provide references for further research on this device.
