Intertidal flat is a place where seawater constantly rises and falls. As a vanguard zone where sea and land interact, the features of intertidal flat are largely on behalf of the characteristics of its own coast. Because of the particularity of intertidal flat, its topography measure is always recognized as 'a hot potato'. Based on the research of intertidal flat topography measure at home and abroad, this article avoids some problems troublesome, such as the dependence of the station of tide gauging, precise match of images and so on. First, We monitor soil water content of intertidal flat through building correlation model between soil water content of intertidal flat and Landsat TM data, then we analyse the correlation between soil water content and topography of intertidal flat, last, we extract topography of intertidal flat combining with GIS. The main contents of this article is as follows:1. outline the actual state of the research in the field of topography measure of intertidal flat and soil water content monitoring by remote sensing at home and abroad.2. represent the digital image process of separating interferential factors.3. analyse the correlation between soil water content and spectral reflectance of intertidal flat, and gain the best band to monitor soil water content by remote sensing.4. summary the models of soil water content monitoring at present, and build the model of soil water content monitoring in the exposure intertidal flat.5. build the correlation between soil water content and topography of intertidal flat through statistics, and simulate the topography of intertidal flat in DaFeng.
