Storm surge calamity is one of the tremendous disasters in nature. In estuary area, storm surges are always mutually acted with floods and tides. To simulate the tide current interacted by storm surge in Yangtze estuary area, three mathematic models have been established. The first one is 1-D model established to calculate the runoff from DaTong section. The second one is 2- D model used to simulate tide current or storm surge current. The third one is the model combined with 1-D and 2-0. The line boundary technique is used to deal with the engineering boundary of Yangtze Estuary Deepwater Channel Regulation Project. The effect of two jetties and groins are properly simulated in the current calculation. The model combined with 1-0 and 2-D has been used to simulate 8 different tide current affected by different runoff, different project and storm surge. Spring tide, great flood and storm surge were included in these calculations. Some interesting conclusions about tide, runoff, storm surge and regulation project were obtained.
