Slope is the basic data for the agriculture, forestry, hydrologic research and other activities of national economy. With the implement of he great development of Western area in China and the eautifying the mountains and rivers-lands project it is necessary to make clear the accuracy of the slope derived from different spatial scale DEMs. From the point of geography and practical application view, three typical test areas are chosen to represent the topographic features of the bess plateau. Applying GIS, mathematical statistics and comparative laws as a basic research methodology and 1:10000 DEM as a criterion, a research on the errors simulation and the rectify method in deriving slope gradient from 1:50000 scale DEMs was made. A TUPU of slope-correction can effectively rectify the slope statistical values in the different topographic areas of the bess plateau, which is of great importance in enacting referential standards in the fields of both applicable accuracy and suitable conditions about different kinds of DEMs. According to the theory of geo-info TUPU, discussing the definition and the representation of the TUPU of slope-correction.
