Visualization of science calculation has been put forward since 1 980s, which became one of the hotspots of the new technology about computer application. One of the characters about calculation in nonlinear finite element is that there are so many data types, huge and complex results that it causes the hugeness of workload about the calculating process and result. The visualization technology in finite element calculation depends on graph ability of computer, which changes the numeral information of calculating into the static or dynamic state menu that is intuitionistic, easy to understand, mutual to analyzed and can be showed in the form of graph and image, therefore it's helpful to understand the process and result of calculation, free from the fussy processing data. In this paper, the Post-bucking and failure analysis software system for composite thin-wall structures (COMPOSS) was transplanted from FORTRAN77 into Win9x platform, which improved the expansibility and the capability of calculation and made the interface of operation friendly. Using the technology of mutexes and bitmap showed in VC5.O, the synchronization of calculation and visualization was realized and the result can be observed in the form of graph which even can be controlled over at the same time of current computing. An approach about eliminating hidden surfaces and isoline description is proposed in this paper, which is fast and suitable for real-time visualization of panel and shell finite element calculation.
