The geometric correction of imagery is an important part of earth observation through remote sensing, which usually needs certain amount of ground control points (GCPs). However, ground control point is not easily available for us and even impossible in some areas such as plateau, desert, sea, frontier, foreign countries especially for Yunnan province where the main land is plateau, for the ground character is not obvious, difficult to arrive at or needs the real-time locating. Therefore, it is very important significance to study imagery correction of remote sensing under lack of GCPs.This thesis firstly introduces the general process of remote sensing imagery correction. Then taking the imagery of SPOT5 satellite as an example, the thesis introduces the SPOT5 satellite's location and its attitude control system; the auxiliary data of satellite ephemeris containing the massive useful information (such as satellite location, velocity, attitude angle and so on) and it should be pretreated before using it; deduces the rigorous physical geometry model of imagery and analyzes model's error. Finally through VC, MO and GDAL, I compiled the programe of remote sensing correction and have finished the correction experiment with SPOT5 satellite imageries of Kunming and Lijiang region and the analysis by this model.
