| In 1997, Israeli physicist Eliyahu M.Goldratt published the book "Critical Chain". In the book, he applied the theory of constraints to project management and proposed critical chain technology, but he didn't introduce the method of making plans, which restricted the application of critical chain technology in practice. This paper firstly introduces the theory of project schedule management. Then it analyzes the necessity of applying critical chain technology in petrochemical project schedule management based on the characteristic of petrochemical project, the problems of China's petrochemical project schedule management and the deficiency of traditional planning methods. It explains the practicability of applying critical chain technology in petrochemical project schedule management according to the methods and resources. Then it summarizes the basic principles and deficiency of critical chain technology. This paper represents the point view of the construction contractors. The purpose of it is to improve the operability of critical chain technology. Based on the basic principles of the traditional planning methods, this paper proposes the method of calculating buffer time, and uses the method of Heuristic optimization to make plan under resource constraints. It applies critical chain technology in practice. It proposes control measures from the construction process management, resource recycling management, subcontract management, project change management and staff training, etc. As a new research direction in the field of project management, it will have an important application prospect. This paper's finding will help to promote critical chain technology to apply in practice. |
