With the coming of the knowledge economy, the market environment enterprise faced has undergone tremendous changes. With a view to obtaining more market profits and competitive advantage, the enterprise urgently need to improve their ability of developing new products and new product development performance. Despite the competitive necessity of becoming a knowledge-based organization, many enterprises have found it difficult to transform their firms through programs of customer knowledge management. Therefore customer knowledge management competence in NPD is important for enterprise to enhance competitive advantage and improve the organization's effectiveness and efficiency. In this sense, study on customer knowledge management competence in NPD has an important theoretical and practical value.From the perspective of the enterprise competence, this paper less deeply and systematically studies the customer knowledge management in NPD. By analyzing the relationship between customer knowledge process and the environmental organizations, the paper defines the customer knowledge management competence.establishes the appraisement system of customer knowledge management competence in NPD, and evaluates indicators through grey level method. This paper seeks to enrich the theoretical customer knowledge management of direction and vision, also expects to be guidance for Chinese enterprises to carry out new product development with some reference value and practical significance in practice.Construction on the article, first of all, this paper reviews a great deal of literature related, summarizes the key research concepts, defines the object of research, and clarifies the theoretical basis of the research. On the basis theories of this paper, it puts forward a conceptual model of customer knowledge management in NPD, and analyzed the text. Than, based on the theory model of customer knowledge management in NPD, the paper fist defined the customer knowledge management competence in NPD, and then proposed the evaluation system to appraise it. This paper divided the customer knowledge management competence into eight aspects, and deeply learns every aspect, then provides the specific targets of every competence. Finally, this paper analyzed customer knowledge management activities of Beijing LingTu Software Technologies Ltd., and evaluate its customer knowledge management competence according to the appraise system, and give the result of evaluation, eventually studied the strategy of promoting the customer knowledge management competence in NPD.
