The Research On The Impact Of Foreign Trade On The Economy Of Jilin Province

As one of the main old industrial bases in Northeast China, the economy of Jilin province has got a remarkable progress since the great strategic plan"revitalizing the old industrial base of the Northeast"was made in 2003. The"Plan of Revitalizing Northeast China"puts forward that: the foreign trade should be developed actively, the economic and trade relations between China and Northeast Asian countries should be consolidated, the markets of Southeast Asia, Europe, the United States and other overseas markets should be explored actively, the frontier trade also should be developed vigorously. From the actual data and related researches, we can find that: compared with the investment and consumption, the impact of foreign trade has been strengthened in the development of Jilin province. Then, how about the concrete direction and extent of the influences on Jilin province made by import and export trade? This should be studied deeply so that we can get relatively scientific and quantitative results in order to provide references for the further development of Jilin province.In this paper, we use the regional computable general equilibrium (CGE) model to study the overall influences on the economy of Jilin province made by the foreign trade and trade structure objectively and scientifically, and to compute the influences of the relevant economic variables made by the foreign trade quantitatively. The main structure of this article includes the following five parts: Introduction part is the background, method and significance of this research.The first chapter Reviews Foreign Trade and Economic Growth in the theoretical study, has been in this field of international trade theory and economic growth theory highlights.The second chapter describes the research methods used in this paper - Provincial Trade CGE model, the first CGE model of the profile, then the construction from the model theory, model selection of functional form, the model equations describe the three aspects Zhao Zhong introduced.The third chapter describes the data model based on the process of compiling the table-SAM, SAM table summarizing the role of the CGE model, and based on the SAM table of Jilin Province, the model parameter estimation and model of the solution process in detail Introduction.The fourth chapter is the applications of the established CGE model, including simulating effects of policies, examining influences on the economy of Jilin province made by the foreign trade and trade structure, setting the plans of simulation and obtaining simulation results. The fifth part is a summary of this article. We get an important conclusion based on our analysis: the coordination of import and export trade is beneficial to the relevant variables of the economic system of Jilin province. These relevant variables include the GDP, the industrial structure, the income gap between urban and rural residents, the demand and structure of production factors, the consumption and investment, and so on. Finally, we give some relevant policy recommendations based on our conclusion.
