In the development of e-commerce, the early e-commerce is based on products. With the popularization of information systems, trading activities based on services will become a new direction of development of electronic commerce, but the services is a kind of invisible commodities, it is different with physical goods in the description, management and trading.Service has the characteristics of highly specialized, it is generally difficult to know specific functions from the name, therefore, reasonable and effective service information is the basis in the activities of e-commerce transactions, it is particularly important for users to search out the matching service through functional information, all this depends on how to represent service information. The existing models of service description are designed with a fixed structure which can't sufficiently describe the extended information of service, and a criteria of unified description and classification is lack in different e-commerce systems, The existing models are difficult to meet the need of semantic descriptions and searching for the service information, and to meet the service's automatic managing and processing, which seriously affect the sharing of service information and connecting between systems, so the designing of the service description model has great practical value.As ontology has a huge advantage in information representation and organization, this article will introduce ontology in service description model, the dissertation first describes the purpose and scope of the model, and then to collect the raw data related to service description, then according to the analysis of original data, gets the concepts and the relationships of the model, the last, uses ontology language to represent the above concepts and relations, and thus builds a model of service description which is based on ontology.Service description model based on ontology is the basis of service management and exhibition system, in the design of the system, the system adopts the framework of struts and the spring to build service management and exhibition system, using protege ontology editing tools to make the service description model, the system make the implementation of the managing and ordering of the service information. Finally, this dissertation presents a future research direction, and raised a number of areas for improvement in the system, such as increasing semantic search capabilities, the administrator's access management, and improving service contracts functions.The innovation features of this dissertation can be grouped into the following three aspects:First, the proposition of service description template solves the problem of the consistency of the service description.Second, the freedom to set the service description's properties solves the scalability problem of the service description.Third, the ontology enhanced service described in the semantics, which provides the basis for the semantic searching of information and sharing of information between systems.Fourth, the self-described combination of the service properties and service level solve the demand of ordering personalized services.
