Since the first metro came into the world in British, the use of city's underground space stepped into a new age.During the past 190 years history of development in metro, it now becomes complex functional than ever:a blend of urban transportation expending,regional industrial agglomeration,urban culture expressions.Under this background, metro economics become metropolitan tourism development's important platform along with the boom of metropolitan tourism. Focusing on Shanghai, up until 2009, there were 9 metro lines about 344.8 kilometers in all put into service and a variety of commercial and cultural formats spontaneously emerged in that large underground space.While how to explore the underground space systematically and deeply means a lot to Shanghai's metropolitan tourism's promotion.This study strives to build a metro economic and cultural system in order to promote Shanghai's metropolitan tourism development better and superior by sorting out present situation of Shanghai's metro economics and comparing characteristic metro economics at home and abroad from the angle of theory of culture capital.Thesis structure is divided into six sections. Chapter for the preface, the study describes in this article the problem, background and significance.ChapterⅡdescribes the theory of culture capital and its composed conceptions, analyses those conceptions'relations. ChapterⅢdescribes the present situation and relations of Shanghai's metro economics and metropolitan tourism. ChapterⅣdescribes the construction of Shanghai's new metro economic and cultural system. ChapterⅤdescribes the promotion for Shanghai's metropolitan tourism by Shanghai's metro economics surrounding three aspects:metropolitan tourism's image construction,products and space. ChapterⅥdescribes the study's shortage and joost.
