Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) introduces its reform on the joint stock system in 2007. The government once again endowed ABC the significant responsibility and mission to serve agro-related sectors, and defined ABC as a large state-owned commercial bank committing to provide financial services to agro-related sectors in countries. Since 2007, ABC has been exploring innovative paths and products to serve agro-related sectors. Among those products, microfinance for farmers becomes one of the most characteristic products, which is also a representative project. Whether ABC could accomplish the service well and achieve its sustainable development not only determines how well it performs to serve agro-related sectors in the long run, but also the foundation for the long-term survival and development. Therefore, based on summarizing the develop experiences of domestic and international microfinance, this paper pay attention to the sustainable development problem for the microfinance's commercial operation in ABC.This article is divided into six chapters. The first chapter determines the content, ideas and methods of this research, by starting with the analysis of current related research in domestic and international academy. In the second chapter, we analyze the experience of microfinance in foreign country and the development of microfinance for farmers in our country, and then point out the problems and shortcomings for the rural microfinance in rural China. The third chapter discusses the organization and management system and development model of the rural microfinance in ABC. Compared with the Bengal Rural Bank, the deficiencies and problems of ABC are revealed, and then some suggestions and ways are proposed. The fourth chapter begins with the analysis of factors which may influence the pricing of the rural microfinance, and then investigates the methods and patterns of microfinance for farmers. Chapter five mainly focuses on the risk control of the rural microfinance. In the end, we summarize the whole paper and put forward some related proposals to assure the sustainable development of the rural microfinance of ABC.
