Based on the Malaysian Chinese adaptation to the change of domestic situation, most of them choose the Malaysia nationality and "LuoDiShengGen", which led to the formation of the Malaysia Chinese society. Through an analysis of the historical background that the Malaysia Chinese were politically marginalized, lost their economic advantages gradually under the principle of "Malaysian first", and met the issue of preserving of Malaysian Chinese culture due to a potential cultural threat, this dissertation analyzes the folk culture, the preservation of culture and the ethnic relationship by both parts, first, expounding the folklore of Malaysian Chinese Spring Festival, which focuses on the Malaysian Chinese staunch persistence in the traditional customs of the lunar New Year, not only describing the folk activities in details, and also comparing the New Year customs with the ancestral customs, and finally finding out the relationship between the folk activities and the preservation and the changes of the Chinese traditional Spring Festival customs; And the second, fully introducing the distinctive Malaysian Chinese New Year customs which has been developing from the Malaysia Chinese community. This dissertation holds that the preservation and development of the lunar New Year customs are able to arise the Chinese community to pass down the Chinese traditional culture, enhances the cohesion of the Malaysia Chinese community and promote the exchanges and the integration of other ethnics.
