Therefore in the present economic situations, water quoted companies how to avail against the economic crisis and to improve the performance is extremely necessary.As an important method of evaluating the business, the performance appraisal can help the stakeholders of the enterprises to fully understanding the performance and the development trends of enterprises, establish and improve the motivation and restraining mechanism, improve enterprise management level and integrated competitive capacities. About the design of the enterprises performance evaluations system, we need reference the general evaluation system, also we must combining industry characteristics, only thus the science and effective evaluation results can be get.The paper took water quoted companies as the object of the study and established the system from the owners. Firstly, I read a lot of literature and papers to acquire the relevant research results and determine the research idea and method, etc. Then, the paper stated the performance evaluation theories and clear and definite water performance evaluation system of the listed company. After defining the concepts of the water industry, the water enterprises, the water quoted companies, the paper make some analysis. Secondly, the paper move into the most important part of the research subject which are individual performance evaluation and comprehensive performance evaluation. For individual performance evaluation, the paper established the individual performance evaluation system and computed the indices to compare and analyze the enterprise performance. For comprehensive performance evaluation, using the optimal variable selection method chose the comprehensive evaluation index based on the individual performance evaluation system, and adopt the factor analysis method to assess the water quoted companies'performance in debt security factor, operating results factor, reserve factor, the main business contributed factor, and count the factor score and the whole score. Last, the paper analyzed the evaluation results and make out the ways to deal with the problems the water listed companies have to give the academic supports in order to improve their performance. This paper still has some weak points, however, I hope they can be make out in other study.
