Presently, electric systems gradually developed into a huge and complicated system which has many special characters as huge capability, widely space distributing and widely transmitted range of the perturbation. Electric system developed more and more complex, so it was a challenge to the safety management. In this instance, risk management method was brought into electric industry. And that the risk assessment as one of the most important parts of the risk management, was this paper research object.Based on the relevant theories and methods of modern industrial production safety risk management, and the study and analysis of risk assessment research and application results in other fields, this paper proposed the systematical methods and implementation principles for the electric system risk assessment.Firstly, this paper discussed the background, significance of the establishment of electric system risk assessment methods which supplied references to risk-earning level and was the scientific gist of advance control measures.Secondly, based on the need of the risk management, this paper brought forward a risk assessment method system. And the chooser of risk assessment object, the chooser of risk assessment impact factors, the confirmer of the importance, the compartmentalization of risk level were demonstrated one by one in this paper. So, it established power plant grand risk assessment methods: rain and snow disaster risk assessment, power plant power cut risk assessment. Power supply company include: snow risk assessment, high temperature risk assessment, power supply company system power cut risk assessment.Thirdly, one power plant and one power supply company were selected as the validation objects. In this phase, the error was adjusted according the application truth. Then it made the mothod more practicable. And promote the electric system risk management.Finally, this paper summarized the study of this paper, and put forward the contents and the exploring orientation in further research.
