Study On Industrial Organization Of Eggs Industry In Hubei Based On SCP Model

Hubei Province is one of the main bases in China's eggs production. For a long time eggs industry in Hubei Province has been the traditional superior one which continues developing. The income of farmers from eggs industry accounts for a large share of the per capita net income of them. After entering the twenty-first century, a group of well-known eggs enterprises have emerged out. With the development of the eggs processing industry, they created famous brands of the whole nation and made outstanding contributions to agricultural economics in Hubei. As a result, how to maintain industrial advantages and open up industrial development is important to eggs industry in Hubei.This paper aims to study the market structure-conduct-performance of eggs industry in Hubei based on SCP model by the empirical analysis and normative analysis. Through horizontal contrast with other provinces and vertical comparison of different stages of Hubei eggs industry, this paper makes related mathematical model, analyses the relationships of influencing factors, accurately describes the market structure-conduct-performance of eggs industry in Hubei, establishes the status of eggs industry in Hubei agricultural economics , puts forward recommendations for developing eggs industry in Hubei , which can promote the overall development of the agricultural economy in Hubei.Research 1: development status of eggs industry in Hubei ProvinceEggs industry in Hubei Province has inherent advantages on natural resources, and occupies an important position in eggs industry of China. Since the 1990's, eggs export trade of Hubei has been developing rapidly, but the production of eggs industry is not optimistic. The product from 1990 grows slowly, lower than the national average. The Hubei's eggs processing capacity is insufficient, and eggs industry is confronted with difficulties due to lack of feed resources, risk of losing advantages of water resources, backward technology and obsolete equipment.Research 2: analysis of the market structure of eggs industry in Hubei ProvinceUtilizing absolute concentration index CR4 and relative concentration index HHI, this paper calculates the market concentration of farmers and enterprises in eggs industry in Hubei. From the measurement results, poultry industry in Hubei is in a highly dispersed competitive state, while exit barriers such as existence capital precipitation, brand and administrative regulations exist in eggs industry in Hubei.Research 3: analysis of the market conduct of eggs industry in Hubei ProvinceThrough analyzing the conduct of pricing, product differentiation, and organizational changes of eggs industry in Hubei, we assume that eggs industry in Hubei attaches importance to brand building, famous brands such as Shendan and Jiuzhu gained good economic and social benefits. However, the situation of R&D and innovation is not optimistic. A few enterprises pay attention to product diversification, but corporate merger and reorganization is not enough. Poultry and eggs processing enterprises are to generate economies of scale.Research 4: analysis of the market performance of eggs industry in Hubei ProvinceWe hold that the scale benefits of eggs processing industry in Hubei are in an invalid phase by DEA model with empirical analyses of market performance of eggs processing enterprises in Hubei , which shows that the production scale of eggs processing industry in Hubei Province has reached a certain level but the overall benefits have poor performance. If we do not alter the current technology and pattern of eggs processing, it will be difficult to increase the overall revenue of eggs processing industry in Hubei. In a word, poultry and eggs industry in Hubei must make technology innovation for competitive advantages.
