The Study On Total Factor Productivity In State-Level Development Zones In China

The increase of total factor productivity could decomposen three aspects.There are frontier technology progress,technical efficiency relative to the frontier and scale economy which based on Stochastic Frontier Analysis or SFA.This paper in-depth analysis the productivity effect and proposal some relative counter-measure,which based on the angle of regional disparity and administrative disparity.With a view to futuer enhancing the productivity of state-level development zonesFirst of all,this paper sorts out the related theory on the development zones' productivity,proposes the factor of its productivity.Then it analysis the overall economic gap and its decomposition on Theil Index.The result shows that the economic development gap is smallest in eastern region and the higher-level administrative citiesSecondly,this paper measures the state-level development productivity from Stochastic Frontier Analysis of SFA and make a depth analysis on the in increase of total factor productivity.The result of analysis demonstrate that the advantage of location is very obviously in astern region of china.It is more higher than other regions in frontier technology progress,technical efficiency relative to the frontier,scale economy and total factor productivity.The higher-level administrative cities have the same conclusion.It is better than other citiesThirdly,this paper carries out quantitative and qualitative analysis for the influnce factors of development zones,which based on the stochastic frontier effects model and the theory of city development.The quantitative result shows that land element ,administrative factor and foreign direct investment have the positive correlation with state-level development zone productivity However, the distance between the development zone and its city is not significant Relative to the middle region, it is more effectivity in eastern.The result of qualitative analysis shows the zones' developing should rely on its city and both of them should mutual promoting coordinated developmentFinally, the paper puts forward the counter-measures based on the frontier analysis ,such as utilizing foreign capital actively and effectively,provideing scientific reference for rational land use,accelerating mother city development,improving the technological innovative and comprehensive increasing the scale economic efficiency of state-level development zones...
