| After the global financial crisis, the trade protectionism has gained ground in some major U.S. and European markets, resulting in the appropriate adjustments of export-oriented economic policies by the state and local governments to maintain the economic growth in an efficient and robust manner. It's of great value both theoretically and practically to conduct research on how to avoid new trade barriers, tap opportunities of international markets, and give full play to the role of the external investment in promoting the economic growth of Jiangsu Province.In combination with the background of the rapid development of China's OFDI in the post-crisis Era, this paper points out the necessity and possibility of developing OFDI in Jiangsu. This paper makes summaries and analysis on some related research results achieved by scholars studying this very issue at home and abroad. And then, the classical theories of direct investment, the theories of direct investment suitable for developing countries and their new development would be sorted out and summarized. From the statistics, the paper elaborates the status quo characteristics of Jiangsu OFDI, conducts testing on the very IDP stage of Jiangsu OFDI, identifies the existing problems and then predicts its scale in a few years to come by constructing models with the gray system. Then, on the basis of analyzing the general factors influencing Jiangsu OFDI, the paper would build the model to find out the factors which influence its location and industry choices from the different perspectives of the home country, the host country and the investment enterprise. Finally, through the SWOT analysis, combing the strengths and weaknesses of developing OFDI in Jiangsu and starting from the possible opportunities and threats, this paper would put forward some strategic proposals for Jiangsu to develop its OFDI in the post-crisis Era from such two levels respectively as the government and enterprises. |
