Research On The Development Of Air Cargo For Dalian Airport

With rapid economic development in Dalian and foreign trade increased, the development of air cargo is increasing faster and faster. Dalian International Airport are one of the four major airports in Northeast China and important airports in Liaoning province, which has its own advantages that is motivating the development of regional economy all the time. Dalian international airport's three indicators of transportation and production, including passengers'throughput, cargo and mail throughput and aircraft movements, have been ranking first in 12 Northeast China's civil airports since 1998.This paper firstly summarizes the development of air cargo in China and Dalian, pointing out the idea of thesis, methods and research significance. Then it analyzes necessity and feasibility of Dalian airport's developing air cargo, using SWOT analysis method to analyze its development, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. According to the historical data of Dalian airport's throughput, a combined forecasting method of three-exponential smoothing model and GM(1,1) model is formed to predict it's throughput in the future. It selects Dalian Airport cargo and mail throughput as its operational target, and Dalian GDP, post and telecommunications business volume, foreign trade imports and exports and the total amount of social consumer goods as the Dalian Economic Indicators. It adopts quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis combined method, then adopting regression analysis to analyze the airport's air cargo and Dalian City Economic indicators, illustrating the interactional effects between Dalian airport and the urban economy. On this basis, some advices such as strengthening Dalian airport-related aspects of building, strengthening the operation and management of air cargo, as well as strengthening exchanges and cooperation in all directions are put forward in order to better promote the development of air cargo for Dalian airport.
