Under the circumstance of economic systematic transformation, changes of market competitive pattern and globalization, family firms have faced a big challenge on how to keep the firms developed sustainable. KY Company, a family-owned private pipeline enterprise, which had got through the toddler period, is pursuing a further development and long-run growth in front of the increasing competition in the pipeline industry in order to achieve an effective outcome through the standardized process management.Family firms are becoming the key driving forces of economic development in China due to their advantages, for instance, strong cohesive power, low agency costs and quick decision-making. However, at the same time we can see an obvious feature of family firms that the life cycle of family firms is too short. In terms of motivational theory, quality management theory and marketing theory, the paper takes use of case study by analyzing 10 years development of KY Company to make in-depth analysis and research on the key issues and effective measures during the process of problem-solving. There are 3 main factors considered in the research, namely: establishing a fully trusted authorization and incentive system, building up a guide principle--quality is the life of the enterprise, and setting up the scientific marketing strategies in order to meet the needs of development.Based on the factor analysis and the empirical method, the paper proves that the standardized process management is an indispensable factor to keep family firms growing up sustainable after a certain development. Furthermore, the paper summarizes the driving factors and competitive advantages of family firms through their standardized process management to overcome themselves shortcomings, which as well provides valuable references for the existing and upcoming family firms.
