Research Of The Institutional Environment Of China's Telecommunications Industry: The Perspective Of Institutional Theory

The year 2008 is the 30th anniversary of China's epic reform and opening-up policy. During these 30 years, China's economic construction has made remarkable achievements. Accomplishing with the process of reform and economic development, institutional environment has undergone a dramatic change, which is a big problem that the China's organization must face. China's telecommunications industry can be considered to be a typical model of both developing of reform and opening-up and transitional economy in the highly dynamic domains. The experience of the change of system environment is of significant researching value to both the researching development of institutional theory and the application of organizational behavior.In this thesis, institutional theory was selected to be the fundamental method, since Chinese have a strong and strict value system. And China's system environment is relatively strong. Besides, China's telecommunication, the object of this thesis, is a typical complex system. Therefore, it is reasonable to be analyzed and compared using the institutional theory.This work is based on theoretical studies of the institutional theory, and uses modern institutional theory as analyzing frameworks. Furthermore, the developing experience, which China's telecommunication underwent, is taken as an instance to study institutional environment. The method for studying institutional theory is used to study the development and reasons of environmental changes of China's telecommunication. Therefore, the interaction between organization structure and institutional environment in the China telecommunication is clear. Finally, the farsighted suggestions are proposed to the structural reform and developing construction in China.
