| At present, harmonious development of the regional economy is a great target of our country. It is the important premise of our country to stride forward the well-to-do community. Economic development in the western region of China is critical for the whole economic development of China. From the view point of financial structure,this paper set forth the vital role of financial structure of for the economic development in the western region of China. At this base we stress the relation among the region financial structure and economic development. The paper attempts to seek the financial structure which will fit for economic development of the western region. Goldsmith thinks, the financial structure is the comprehensive reflection of the financial inactive state, in this sense, the finance deepening is the course of financial structural optimization. So, in the course of our country's regional economic development in particular the economic revival in the backward region, we must pay attention to the function of the financial structure.This article is divided into four parts. First part is the theory summarizes of the regional financial structure and the economic development. The second part describes the actuality of the financial structure and economic development in the western region of China. Thirdly the paper demonstrates the relation between the transformation of region financial structure and region economic advance. The indexes used to weigh the region economic development of our country are certain region financial ratios. The increasing rate of GDP per capital is used to weigh the region economic advance.
