Leadership theory is a theory of studying leadership validity. The organizational effectiveness research of different style leadership is increasingly becoming the focus of scholars at home and abroad. From the study, whether transformational leadership or paternalistic leadership, it exists widely in our country. At present, in mainland China, the research on leadership validity in both leadership styles did not draw the same conclusion.It has been shown in prior studies that the character and individualized consideration in transformational leadership includes the moral leadership and benevolence leadership in paternalistic leadership. This paper will focus on the comparative research between transformational leadership and authoritarian paternalistic leadership, and reveal the leadership validity of two leadership theories.This paper tested four dimensions structure of transformational leadership and authoritarian paternalistic leadership by confirmatory factor analysis, and then correlation analysis were used to explore the relationships between transformational leadership and authoritarian paternalistic leadership and turnover intention, organizational citizenship behavior and organizational trust. Finally, through the level of regression analysis, it will compare the difference of leadership validity prediction between transformational leadership and authoritarian paternalistic leadership.The result shows that both the Chinese transformational leadership style of the four-dimensional structure and authoritarian paternalistic leadership style of the four-dimensional structure have been proved. Transformational leadership and organizational citizenship behavior and organizational trust are positive correlated, and there is no significant correlation between transformational leadership and staff turnover intention. Authoritarian paternalistic leadership and organizational citizenship behavior and staff turnover intention are positive correlated, and there is no significant correlation between authoritarian paternalistic leadership and organizational trust. For staff turnover intention and organizational citizenship behaviors, authoritarian paternalistic leadership has better prediction results than transformational leadership, but for organizational trust, transformational leadership has better prediction results than authoritarian paternalistic leadership.
