Early in the 1840's, Marx pointed out that capital is a person-to-person social relationship reflected in the objects, revealing that expansion is the inner nature of capital and its living condition. With the deepening of theoretical study on capital, the research on the expansion of it has also gone through the process from phenomenon to nature.Driven by people's will to pursue surplus value, captial expands ceaselessly, pouring all natural resources, human resources and social resources into the production and reproduction of it, which, accordingly, puts the whole social economic system in a stitution of constant expansion, and thereby brings tremendous impetus and profound crisis to the development of economy, society and human themselves. On the one hand, the expansion of capital becomes the great power of the development of human productivity and the historical progress of human history, enabling the awakening of humanism and optimum distribution of social resources adjusted by human rationality. On the other hand, the expansion of capital also triggers economic crisis and the overall social crisis brought about by it, which puts human under the control of scientific rationality and forms irrational money worship. Therefore, the study on how the Chinese socialist market economy could deal with the expansion of captial in current world is of great significance to captial theory and the construction practice of socialist modernization.
