Performance appraisal refers to grasp the ability of employees and the performance contribution, in order to make decisions on the problems such as reach a pay rise, promotion, staffing, education and training and so on. To the modern enterprise, its more important purpose is to make the staff exert the ability and actively promote the work, thus improving the company's performance. Economic Value Added (EVA) is not only a financial indicators that be able to evaluate the level of value creation better, it is also a powerful enterprise value management tool. Therefore, it has great significance on the bank's development to set up the performance appraisal system at the core of EVA in the China Contribution bank.This dissertation is based on EVA. It introduces the contents and features of EVA appraisal system and elaborates the practice experience, existing problems and countermeasure for the application of EVA construction bank of China. Firstly, this dissertation illustrated the background and meaning of EVA as our research target, and reviewed relevant domestic and foreign literatures. Secondly, we introduced the concept and main function of EVA. Thirdly, this dissertation focuses on analyzing the history and current problems that the performance appraisal system as the core of EVA at the China contribution bank. The China Construction bank has set up the performance appraisal system at the core of EVA taking fully into account its operating structure and strategic characteristics. On the one hand, the formula for calculating EVA was adjusted so that it can play its role. On the other hand, it set up the total amount of incentive systems, senior management performance appraisal system and staff performance appraisal system separately, and it use different standards to carry out performance evaluation in accordance to the levels nature of their work. From the current practical situation of the China Construction Bank, the performance appraisal system at the core of EVA has brought enormous economic benefits. However, the problem can not be ignored, especially the obstacles encountered.when the the different levels of bank subsidiary use it. In the end, this dissertationgave some suggestions about how to improve of the efficiency assessment system based on EVA in different levels of China construction bank.
