Study On Container Shipping Companies' Operation Flexibility Under Circumstances Of Dynamic Competition

Because of the global view and technology revolution,market environment becomes more and more complicated and hard to forecast,which makes container shipping companies facing bigger challenge.Traditional competition theory based on static state is unavailable,and container shipping companies have to hold a view of dynamic competition to responsible for the changeable market environment,or they couldn't be survive in keen completion.The paper studies on the operation flexibility under circumstances of dynamic competition.It is studied systematically and thoroughly in comprehensive analysis way, which combines qualitative,quantitative and case analysis.Among them,the qualitative analysis is applied primarily for the current status of container shipping companies' operating,which is mainly by studying the whole competitive environment of shipping industry,analyzing the major threat liner companies facing,determining liner companies' core competitive elements,i.e.targets of flexible implementation. Quantitative analysis is applied primarily for determining weighing coefficient of container shipping companies' flexibility system by APH.The method calls for the establishment of a certain degree evaluation index system,and classes the analytic results according to of the proposed evaluation question,then analyses the interrelatedness,the attachment and the importance degree,finally create a model of hierarchical structure. The key step is to structure the judgment matrix in the research question by using the AHP.For the parameters in the matrix,this paper used in the questionnaire survey to collect the first-hand data,and the questionnaires is mainly filled by the relevant experts in the universities and research institutes and the management personnel in the delivery enterprise,etc.The case analysis is primarily to compare the container shipping company MAERSK which is listed in the first ranking on the global with the benchmarking enterprises COSCON in our country container shipping industry.At last,the paper gives some suggestion about container shipping companies' operation flexibility implement according to the results of qualitative quantitative and case analysis above.Constructing strategy information system could contribute prompting container shipping companies' core competitive strength,which makes them keeping advantage in competition.
