To some extent, the performance of listed companies is the barometer of the regional economy. It can not only provides valuable measure for investors by reflecting the operating level and developing trends of a certain company, but it also offers evaluation and suggestions for the structure of regional economy.This thesis sets up the performance evaluation system of listed companies, by drawing on the performance of listed companies at home and abroad related to the evaluation of research results and combining with the development of listed companies of Xiamen region, and it has proved with strong practical significance. The main contents include the following aspects. The first chapter discusses the research background and practical significance, and clarifies the basic idea of the study. The second chapter reviews the related theories of the performance evaluation system of listed companies both at home and abroad. The third chapter bases on the data which can be collected from the related almanac, and divides the system into six parts: profitability, solvency, liquidity scale and so on according to Xiamen's case, which provides the material to the following analysis. The forth chapter briefly introduces the theory of the gray correlation model and principal component analysis. These methods are the basic mathematical tools of the following analysis. The fifth chapter establishes the performance evaluation model of Xiamen regional and does general analysis and sequencing based on the annual reports of 2007.The sixth chapter reveals the existing problems during the developing of the listed companies in Xiamen and make some policy suggestions.The innovation points of the thesis can be generated as follows. It makes perspective of the development of socio-economic structure and situation of Xiamen region through the performance evaluation of listed companies. The combination of gray correlation model and principal component analysis method not only offers an effective solution to the incomplete information conditions for systematic analysis of small samples of limitations, but also overcomes subjective weakness of index weight.However because of the shortage of annual report of 2008 and the limitation of the author's research ability, the whole case analysis is based on the data of 2007 and non-finance index is not included.
