The Impact Of FDI On The Industrial Structure Upgrading Of Guangdong Province

The foreign direct investment is generally considered as the most attractive way of utilizing foreign investment for developing countries,because the foreign direct investment is an organism including capital,technology,management experience in a package of elements.Developing Export-oriented economy,activelly using foreign investment is an important part of China's"Eleventh Five-Year Plan"period of economic development strategy.Since the reform and opening-up nearly 30 years,the foreign direct investment has already occupied the quite important position in the economy movement and development of Guangdong Province,powerfully promoted the economy and society's development of Guangdong Province。This contribution is not only displayed in introduction of foreign direct investment,technology,management experience---what is urgently needed in the development of Guangdong Province's economic,employment opportunities creating,revenue increasing,etc,But also displayed the vital role in the industrial structure optimization,adjusts and promotes of Guangdong's economic.At the initial stage of opening-up,the foreign direct investment has played an important role in many ways including making-up for shortage of funds of Guangdong Province,development of processing trade, exports—promoting and the growth of economic.With the advent of the knowledge-based economy with greater development of Guangdong's economic, early capital's main motivation is falling behind in second place,attracting foreign investment to promote the upgrading of the industrial structure of Guangdong Province has become the primary objective of attracting foreign investment.Therefore, the study of the foreign direct investment's impact on the industrial restructuring of Guangdong Province,especially in the background of the global financial crisis,How to make rational use of foreign capital to promote further optimization of Guangdong Province's industrial structure becomes the focus of attention.Based on the above background,I put foreign direct investment in Guangdong Province on the impact of upgrading the industrial structure as the object of study in this thesis.This thesis embarks firstly from the correlation theories of the foreign direct investment,to review and comment on the theory what studies the relations of the foreign direct investment and the upgrading of industries;Then analyzes the use of foreign direct investment in Guangdong's status quo aspects from FDI's sources and methods,industrial structure characteristic and industry local distribution;And then use statistical methods related,like Granger causality test,Engle-Granger cointegration relationship test,a linear econometric model,etc,to test empirical research.Finally,make a number of shallow recommendations on How to use FDI to promote the upgrading of the industrial structure of Guangdong In the current situation of financial crisis.
