Study On Knowledge Work Process And The Influencing Factors Of Efficiency Based On An Integrated Cognitive Model Within Modern Manufacturing Environment

Today, knowledge creates wealth. The popularity of computer, development of network technology, as well as a variety of management information systems and application software has become a symbol of knowledge work. Now knowledge work has become one of the mainstream work styles, on behalf of the future direction of work development. Especially within the modern manufacturing environment, the enterprises consider the customer satisfaction as the ultimate goal, but the pursuit of customer satisfaction depends on the ability of enterprises to continue to design and innovate. All of those are inseparable to knowledge workers.However, how do the knowledge working systems consisting of several elements such as human, information systems, environment, and the task convert the input to effective output? How can the knowledge working process be characterized and decrypted? What key factors are affecting the efficiency of knowledge work? How can we ensure the efficiency of knowledge a significant upgrade? Research on these issues has been no breakthrough up to now.In reference to the relevant research around the word, this paper concentrates on the substance of knowledge work process from the points of cognitive processes and knowledge activities, which is represented by product designers'work within modern manufacturing environment. First of all, the paper put forwards a primary integrated cognitive model of knowledge work process based on the theories of classical cognitive model, and then enriches the model through two experiments, use the data of interviews with manufacturers to verify the correctness of the theoretical model, and finally put forward a formal integrated cognitive model of knowledge working process. This model includes cognitive processes and knowledge activities, and gives a description of the mechanism how the knowledge tasks are finished. At the basis of all that, this study gives a concept of knowledge activity elements and uses this word to be the basic component of the knowledge work process, and then analyzes the influencing factor of knowledge work efficiency from the points of knowledge activity elements, information input and knowledge activities.The results show that the integrated cognitive model can explain the essence of knowledge work process and that using the knowledge activity elements to be the essential component of process is of its theoretical nature. The most fundamental influencing factors of efficiency and the measures to improve efficiency will be able to dig out from this perspective.
