Study On Adjustment And Mechanism Of The Industrial Structure Of Agriculture In Inner Mongolia

With the entire national economic development and the evolution of the market, Industrial structure of agriculture is also adjusted accordingly,which plays an important role in promoting rural economic growth and increasing the income of the peasants.The paper provides a throughout description on adjustment of Inner Mongolia's agricultural industry structure and regional distribution during 1987-2007 using official statistics. The causes and mechanism for the strucutural adjustment are then analyzed from factor input and demand.First, analysis and evaluation of the present situation and the historical evolution of the agricultural structure in Inner Mongolia.The results show that momentum of development of animal husbandry is strong, and the proportion of forage crops in planting industry is in the rising momentum. Judging from the results of Shift Analysis, Inner Mongolia's agricultural industry structure is relatively reasonable and the superior industry of Inner Mongolia is same as national circumstancesSecond, analysis on the impact of factor inputs on Inner Mongolia's agricultural industry structure.Through the measured labor productivity, capital productivity and total factor productivity, the application efficiency of agricultural factors in Inner Mongolia is low, but application efficiency in the livestock industry is relatively high.At the same time, scientific and technological progress plays a more and more important role in Inner Mongolia's agricultural growth.Third, analysis on the impact of demand on Inner Mongolia's agricultural industry structure.The measured results of the fixed demand show that the agricultural products of Inner Mongolia can be self-sufficient, but it's structure need to be adjusted.Planting and animal husbandry are closely connected. The strong consumption demand of livestock products leads to the adjustment of the internal structure in planting, the proportion of forage crops then increase.To sum up, animal husbandry should be the main direction of agricultural development in Inner Mongolia. Cattle, sheep, pigs are still the focus ,and the poultry industry which income elasticity of demand is high should be strengthen.In planting internal, on the basis of Food production is in a stable, more attention should be paid to the development of vegetables and oil crops, and expand the acreage of forage crops appropriately.
