The Research On Performance Evaluation System Of Listed Bank In China

The issue of performance evaluation of commercial bank is always a hotspot in the areas of theory and practice. The commercial banks and foreign-funded banks are competing drastically on the same condition of politics and economy especially under the economy background that exoteric to foreign-funded bank constantly. It is more important to build a effective performance evaluation system which can improve the performance of the banks and find the distance between Chinese local banks and foreign-founded banks. The aim of paper is to set a suit of more applied performance evaluation systems basic on the results that have been done with a new appraise method in order to educe the outcome.The paper is separated into six parts. First of all, it introduce the background and significance and research, and method of the research. Review the literature of performance evaluation theoretic and method in the second part. In the third part, it focus on the actuality Chinese local commercial banks' performance evaluation and point out the shortage of them.With the sufficient review of the theoretic background, in the fourth part the paper contribute the performance evaluation index system which set the ration index system including productive, fluid, secure and developmental indexes. And the indexes of Earning Per Share and the Increase of Net Asset Per Share have been especially inserted to reflect the performance of listed banks. At the same time the paper set the non-ration indexes from the aspects of customer, the internal operation, as well as learning and growth with the Balanced ScoreCard. The empirical study is in the fifth part. The paper set the criterion and modulus of evaluation with the efficacy coefficient method and Delphi approach in order to let the results can be measured and compared. Then make the China Merchants Bank an example to show the process of calculate with the efficacy coefficient method. And then account the performance score and rant of the other thirteen listed banks in 2007 to validate the indexes system that the paper builds. In the last part of the research conclude that the results of empirical study suitable with the actuality, so the index evaluation system is meaningful and feasible. The paper indicates the limited of this research and the direction of the development of the research at the end of the paper.
