| Driving industrialization by informationization, optimizing industrial structure and transforming growth models are important tasks of our equipment and manufacturing industry. Informationization is also the must for new industrialization and economic growth. As the important component of the Information System, ERP becomes focused more and more by manufacturing enterprises for the improvement of competency it brings to enterprises. Machine Tool manufacturing is the industry of high integration of technology, high discrimination of process and customization of market needs. Applying information technology, especially the deployment of ERP is significant for Machine Tool manufacturing, this will bring the in-time and accurate data for the improvement of efficiency to realize Lean Production, Agile Manufacturing and Scientific decision-making.According to a survey, there are more than 80% ERP projects were failed in China. Besides the reason of poor performance in enterprise management, the absence of a theoretical ERP implementation methodology is another key factor of the project failure. Therefore, a depth research topic on ERP implementation process and the problems occurred during this process becomes very important and valuable.This article focuses on the ERP implementation in China enterprises, adopting the research methodology by combining theoretical analysis and case study upon the reality to study the ERP implementation process and the obstacles along with this process. The purpose of this article is to provide a guideline both theoretically and practically for the China enterprise on how to implement ERP system. The outline and contents of the article is following: Besides the executive summary and conclusion, there will be five chapters to deeply analyze the implementation process and the problems during the implementation process for Machine Tool Production. Firstly, the research focuses on the requirement characteristic on Machine Tools Manufacturing. Secondly, the article describes on how to prepare before the formal start of the implementation, which includes Software selection, project contents and organization definition, etc. Thirdly, the research is achieving a standard ERP implementation methodology, which is suitable to the Machine Tools manufacturing enterprises, by the means of deep understanding and analysis on ERP implementing process and procedures. Finally, using the Shenyang Machine Tool Limited Company successful case study indicates the practice of the methodology in a real case. The methodology clearly summarizes the procedures and methods on Machine Tool Production ERP implementation, points out the key obstacles and provides the correct steps to solve these problems. |
