Along with the rapid development of the advertising industry, a commercial film has become more and more is an integral part of people's daily life. Music, commercial films can be run hand in hand, everywhere. Music is a commercial film's basic element, has a unique and irreplaceable function.However, in full of all electronic media, music in commercial films which are impressive is very few. Why is this so? Crux of the matter is the people's bias on the understanding of music's functions in commercial films. It was considered that the main purpose of advertising is to sell products, music is just the foil, which can not dominate the proceedings. In fact, this point of view is wrong.Modern communication and consumption experience more and more tend to be an emotional experience, the audience is not the simple concept of consumer buying a product, sales promoters are not just to transfer the simple message of business information, the media is more focused on conveying the emotion, consumers' demand are more emotional experiences. In this connection the music provided effective measure to convey. Music in commercial films has the advantage of creating an atmosphere which accurately convey the quality of products, through the creation of music melodies and lyrics, infect consumers, draw consumers' desire to by and enhance the impression of the products to consumers.Though many businessmen and advertising people have realized the importance of music to advertisings' creation, but they have no sufficient knowledge of music in commercial films which are in less 30 seconds, and weaken the actions. In this thesis, I will clear up the origin, history, status, traits and creations of music in commercial films. At the same time I strive to build a comprehensive perspective, fully tap the vast music's features in commercial films.This thesis uses the methods of content analysis and exemplifications to study the music's uses in commercial films. It also uses questionnaires and empirical analysis to analyze the effect and influence of music in commercial films. Besides,this thesis uses the method of documents to study the traditional theories of communications, sociology, psychology which are related to the subject, providing theoretical basis to this thesis.In whole idea, this thesis attempts to take the commercial films as targets, understand the historical development of music, explore the general laws of advertising music's general specific characteristics and the basic performance, inspect music in commercial films' functions and impact to consumers. So we can discuss the traits, nature and value of the music in commercial films, and analyze music how to participate in the overall advertising plan, how to create the music in commercial films. In addition, commercial films' impact to the transition and development of music it self will also be analyzed.
