Land Intensive use is an important measure of building a conservation-oriented society and an inevitable requirement for the construction of Wuhan city circle of two types of social. as the carrier of urban economy, development zone is of great significance in gathering in the promotion of industry, spurring urban economic development and enhancing city's competitiveness. However, because the land-use was not standardized and the structure of the layout was not unreasonable, the land waste and inefficient use of development zone is widespread.Wuhan East Lake High-tech Zone was established in 1988, and it is one of the three major intelligence-intensive areas in Chinese. It locates in the coast and strategic location. However, there are many problems in the development process of land use. Therefore, how to further enhance the intensive use of land is a key issue. This thesis analyzed the status and the characteristics of land intensive use of Wuhan East Lake high-tech Development Zone, and the problems that exist in the land use process of development zone and the corresponding solutions were discussed by the application of land intensive use theory. The thesis discussed the following problems by positive method, Document investigation and comparative analysis. The first chapter is the introduction, which described the purpose of the study and its significance. The second chapter analyzes some theories: sustainable development theory, the law of diminishing land returns, rent theory and land location theory. The third chapter introduces the related concept and content of development zone, and then discusses the meaning of land intensive use. Chapter IV first introduced the basic situation of Wuhan East Lake high-tech Development Zone, and then sum up the problems of its land-use: the lack of unified standards for the supply of land, much unused land, the unreasonable structure, the lower profit. The fifth chapter got the corresponding recommendations and responses: First, we should develop a scientific and rational land use planning; the second is we should improve the monitoring mechanism for development zones; the third is to make intensive use land in stock; the fourth, the land-use evaluation of development zones should be carried out; Fifth, we should improve the land utilization rate by market mechanisms. Chapter VI is the conclusion and the outlook. In short, the study on land intensive use of development zone is not only useful for the development of land-use theory, but also for land-use practices.
