Along with economic globalization , the information technologies developed rapidly, especially technologies of computer, communication and network . The consumers'demand to products and services is growing. Faced with the rapidly changing market environment and uncertainty of demand ,the only way of obtainning a competitive advantage for enterprises is to cut the product cost and enhance core competence Nowdays , the profits of electronics industry is being gradually reduced . In order to achieve maximum benefits, how to use advanced inventory management methods to reduce the cost of products has become the people's focus . VMI ,such an advanced inventory management model, is emerged .This thesis is focused on how to optimize the inventory management model in electronic manufacturing enterprise and establish the VMI inventory management model .The paper based on the supply chain management theory and inventory management theory, and learened the inventory management models from both domestic and overseas enterprises ,analyzed the feasibility and need of VMI inventory management model in China. First, the thesis summarized theoretical research results and practical experience in the world, and analyzed the shortcomings of enterprise inventory management model at present. Second, the thesis discussed the basic idea of VMI and the need for VMI. Through fully analyzing the operation strategy and the prerequisite of establishing the VMI , the thesis established the VMI organizational structure of warehouse, established the environment to implemente VMI model and VMI inventory management model and designed specific information storage system for VMI , EDI processes and VMI warehouse operation processes . Finally, the thesis analyzed the feasibility of its implementation risk through studying the company F.
