Due to its attributes of uncertainty and phenomenal destruction liquidity crisis is regarded as the most vital crisis for commercial banks. Reinforcing liquidity management is an important challenge that commercial bank operators must deal with. Liquidity problem is one of the major difficulties that the financial world has not been able to conquer yet. It was stated in the report about the multinational banks measurement and management framework submitted by the Basel Committee that measurement and management is the most critical business of commercial banks.Because of the small asset scale, the single structure of asset and the period mismatch of the asset and liability, small and medium-sized bank has its model different to big banks in liquidity risk management.Liquidity risk is small probability event, so the point of liquidity risk management is early-warning.This paper focused on the liquidity management of small and medium-sized banks, based on the theory of liquidity risk management, and analyzed the current status of the liquidity management of small and medium-sized banks in our country. Based on the above, this paper put on the payment liquidity risk and structural liquidity risk and raised the stress test models of liquidity risk fitting for small and medium-sized banks. At last, this paper brought up as suggestions for liquidity risk management from inside and outside of the small and medium-sized banks.The thesis mainly consists of six parts - discussion on the background and meaning of the topic selected for this thesis, elaboration on the research methods, and the introduction of both domestic and overseas research documents. The first chapter is mainly about the discussion on the theories related to liquidity and liquidity management of commercial banks. The second and third chapters are about the current status of small and medium-sized banks in our country in respect of their liquidity and liquidity management The fourth and fifth chapters suggest testing methods for the pressure on liquidity management of medium to small-sized commercial banks and the improvement suggestions on liquidity management of small and medium-sized banks.
