OEM (Original Equipment Manufactory) is the result of economical globalization and international division. After 50 years' development, OEM has already reached the top in the world, especially in China. Following this situation, there is a lot of business area, or academic area bring forward OEM needs to switch the mode, even called OEM is a dead end. But based on the real situation of OEM companies and the development trend of Chinese economic, OEM still has huge potentiality if we put it together with Supply Chain Management.With the rapidly development of information technology and customers' requirement individualized, the competition of OEM is not between companies any more, and is between Supply Chains; the competition between quality, cost has already transferred to the competition of time. Supply Chain Management based on time competition will be the lead of company, and the capability to response customs demand rapidly determined by the time linked between different stages, including OEM Companies and Brand Companies. There are more and more brand companies want to choose OEM by lead-time as a standard now. This trend pushes OEM has to do strategy plan, increase investment and decrease lead-time in order to enhance its core competitiveness. But the real activities showed not all companies can get benefit from reduce the lead-time, and some of OEM companies are deep in trap of time by over-reducing the lead-time. So, the core context of this thesis is how to formulate the exact lead-time in order that they can satisfied the customs' requirement and increase their benefit together.Based on existing research results, this thesis mainly studied the single lead-time strategy with MTO (Make to Order) under Supply Chain mode. Brand Company's waiting time cost is introduced as a new measurement unit; we got the results as follows. If OEM want to gain the max benefit, they should plan that the per cost to reduce lead-time is the half of customs' waiting time cost; with customs' waiting time cost increasing, optimization promised lead-time will increasing and the OEM max benefit will decreasing accordingly; with production and capacity cost increasing, lead time reliable level increasing, OEM should guaranteed lead-time longer. These propositions can offer a certain degree of guidance to OEM companies when they design lead-time strategies.This thesis contains 10 figures, and 56 references.
