With the state's policies and regulations, the process of urbanization, the global market economy, the urgent requirement of environmental factors, the development demand of city bus is growing. The Development of city large bus based on the ground with a large capacity characteristics is the inevitable trend of city development in China. It has some advantages metro and light rail can not be compared to. City bus's form impacts on the aesthetic, and the city harmonious coexistence, passengers comfort, safety and traffic efficiency directly.Based on the history evolution of large bus's form, the paper studies the history origin, development and current mainstream form of city bus.In part of foreign, the paper introduces the history of Germany four major bus companies (Benz, Man , Setra, Neoplan) representing advanced level of the bus in the world; In part of China,it introduces the history of Beijing bus.The paper also introduces mainstream large bus form welcomed in current market.Looking at the history evolution of city large bus's form, there is a certain law can be found, from a certain point of view reflecting the people's aesthetic concepts, the social environment and science and technology. The paper espounds the theoretical foundation of city large bus's historical evolution study, analyzes the city bus design's aesthetic elements - shapes, and colors; technical elements - materials, structures, aerodynamics, and economic element and human element. Those provide the basis for the future large bus design. The paper uses Rough set theory to analyse the current large city bus's form.It introduces several concept design of large city bus, discusses the form trend of future large bus. Finally, the design practice, is used to prove aforesaid theory, and is provided to recognize.
