Development Study On Dalian "Port And Shipping Industry Support The City" Based On Input-Output Theory

With the development of the world economic integration, the harbor city with its unique resource advances the regional industrial structure optimization through centralized effect and cooperating effect, then to make the harbor city become the a tower of strength of the global economy. Especially of the city in the coast of the Pacific ocean, the transferring of the economic center to Asia provides the uncommon opportunity for it, then the port and shipping industry has rapidly developed. On the contrary, the development of the port and shipping industry makes a contribution to the economy of the city. This paper, based on the precious studies, continuously do the research of the contribution of the port and shipping industry.Dalian is the important harbor in north China, for some historical reasons Dalian has fall behind. However, the central government put forward that Dalian has become the north east Asian international shipping center, and this is a very good opportunity for Dalian to develop its economy. Therefore, it's quite necessary to study the contribution of the port and shipping industry in Dalian according to the unique resource Dalian Possesses.This paper introduces the qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis to study the contribution of the port and shipping industry. In the qualitative analysis, this paper firstly studies the development process and present condition of "port and shipping industry support the city", then analyzes the development advantage with face of challenge, and puts forward some problems that exist in the development on these grounds. In the quantitative analysis, it uses the Input -Output model to analyze the economic contribution of port and shipping industry in Dalian.At last, basing on the contribution theory of the port and shipping industry and the demonstration analysis in Dalian city, this paper put forward the conclusions and suggestion which are much more impressive and deeper than before, Optimization of the port structure, enhancing efficiency of the port. The suggestion is based on the development steps that is bonded port construction, the mutual promotion of port and city, port-city's integral construction, port and shipping industry support the city and free trade zone development.
