Urban Nightscape Economy

In this thesis, preliminary definition of"urban night economy"and"urban nightscape economy"is discussed based on the research of the urban economy and urban lighting plan projects both in China and abroad in the first three chapters. Night economy, which is also named evening economy, means the economic actions happened after daytime, the time period is from the sunset to the next sunrise. Nightscape economy, the focus of the thesis, is part of the night economy, which influence the urban economy in both obverse and negative aspects.Influence of the night economy is the main point of the following discussion. Base on a great deal of investigations, three kinds of central night economy: tour, entertainment and culture, will be focused on the will of the people to improve our lighting design of the night city. The main influence factors of the nightscape construction to the urban economy are summarized and abstract by SWOT analytical method in the forth chapter.In the fifth chapter, consulted to the theory study anterior, investigations to the masses in questionnaire form are carried through in order to educe the condign nightscape economy develop trend. Three kinds of nightscape economy mode are concluded: nightscape economy for tour and view, nightscape economy for entertainment, nightscape economy for culture development. Correspondingly, questionnaire researches of three typical research districts are done separately to study the intention of people to the different kinds of nightscape economy modes. As the main constitution of night economic actions, people's answers to questionnaire are a forceful reference to lighting planning and management.
