Research On Time Optimization Of Mass Customization For Furniture Business

Mass customization, which seeks to satisfy individual customer with cost as low as in mass production, has been a main manufacture mode in 21st century. However, Chinese furniture enterprises do not carry it out completely at present .With a distance from developed country, China will still drop behind if enterprises develop mass customization with their old production modes because China is facing the globalization. So if Chinese furniture enterprises want to catch up, they should gradually turn to mass customization by combining their own circumstances and characters. To realize these all, enterprises need to find ways to shorten their delivery time under certain conditions.Beginning with the conception and the development at home and abroad, this dissertation mainly analyses the development of China furniture business and also its trend. This dissertation introduces primary customization ways and management strategies for furniture business. Based on these opinions, the author analyzes problems of customization process and production process which postpone delivery time. Then author gives out a mode based on postponement strategy and linear programming, and puts forward a way of changing production plan in time and also a customization process which can fast respond. These can help companies shorten their delivery time under conditions of cost and product diversification. At last this dissertation gives out an example. The model is used in the example and is computed through excel and visual basic software. The result can help the company make a customization strategy. By doing this, the theory and the model can be proved right and useful.
