New ventures play a more and more important role in the current economy. They help to offer more jobs and promote technical innovation.This paper gives an in-depth investigation into 104 new ventures .Based on these works it systematically evaluates the critical factors that affect the new ventures during their developmental process through quantitized methods.Firstly the foundation courses of new ventures in Hefei are analyzed from four aspects. They are the identity of start-up opportunity, the formation of start-up motivations, the making of entrepreneurial decision and the conditions which will benefit the naissance of new ventures.Secondly on the subject of the survival ability of new ventures in Hefei, this paper discusses the relationship between the preparation of start-ups, the ability of entrepreneurs and them. Meanwhile this paper expounds the critical works at the early stage and the indicators of performance inspection. After that we summarize the key factors that decide the fate of new ventures.And then this paper gives the most attention to 41 of the swatch ventures .These enterprises are all operated more than 5 years. The growth pathes at the early stage of new ventures are studied from four aspects. They are the basic developmental ability, the formation and change of growth ability, corporate governance and developmental strategy.Finally this paper puts forth the developmental countermeasure on how to promote the development of new ventures in Hefei. These measures will help the government to build a environment which is propitious to innovation and entrepreneurship。On the other hand it will provide a base for further researches on developmental patterns of new ventures.
