Influence Of RMB Exchange Rate Regime Reform On Export Trade Of Jiangxi

With the RMB appreciation verse US dollar in 2006, Jiangxi's export keeps growing quickly. This comes out the following two questions: What is the influence of RMB Exchange Rate change on Export Trade of Jiangxi? Is exchange rate the main factor of Jiangxi's export flow?Firstly, this paper takes a brief review on RMB Exchange Rate Regime Reform, and points out three misunderstandings in remaining a stable exchange rate of RMB: Is a stable exchange rate a strategic goal or is it simply a means? Is the present stable exchange rate caused by market or by administrative mechanism? Is it advantageous to remain a stable exchange rate? Only when we fully understand these questions sufficiently can we get a practical conclusion on RMB exchange rate regime reform.Then, the paper builds the empirical model based on Jiangxi's export data and makes an analysis on the influence of RMB appreciation to export by way of Co-integration Test and Error Correction method. The empirical results show that the appreciation of RMB doesn't reduce Jiangxi's trade surplus and exchange rate is not the main factor of Jiangxi's trade flow.In addition, it further studies the causes of Jiangxi's export flow with finding the core factors and proposes some suggestions to avoid exchange rate risks at chapter 4 and 5.In summary, this paper has its creativeness of the regional economic perspective in researching the influence of RMB appreciation to export trade of Jiangxi province, inadequacies of the limited sample data and using national PPI data instead of Jiangxi's, which may affect the accuracy of empirical results and still needs further study.
