In recent years, with the improvement of technology as well as people's living condition, mobile phone has been an indispensable communication tool and China has become the largest mobile phone market all over the world. However, the Chinese domestic mobile enterprises have gone through an unsteady development history which started in 1998, reached a peak between 2003 and 2004, and then experienced an overall failure between 2005 and 2006. In 2007, Chinese domestic mobile enterprises have been involved in a stalemate with their foreign counterparts, while in 2008 they are confronted with a more complicated development environment. Therefore, it's of great significance to study the development strategy of Chinese domestic mobile enterprises.This study focuses on the development strategy of Chinese domestic mobile enterprises. Firstly, based on research of development situation of Chinese mobile phone market, the development features of Chinese mobile phone market are analyzed, and a conclusion that Chinese mobile phone market is in a form of monopolistic competition with huge potential is drawn. Secondly, the analytical tool of SWOT is used to analyze the strengths, weakness and development opportunities and threats; the tool of SPACE (Strategic Position and Action Evaluation Matrix) is used to analyze the industrial strength and environmental stability of Chinese mobile phone industry as well as the financial strength and competitive advantage of Chinese domestic mobile phone enterprises. Based on above work, the conclusion is made that Chinese domestic enterprises should take a Remedial-Competitive strategy. In the last part, ways of carrying out this strategy are studied.
