In Chinese high-tech industry, telecommunication equipment manufacture makes the most contributions and highest industry production value. Foreign direct investment on telecom manufacture is active in China, and the competition in this industry is intense around the world. In recent years, most multinational corporations(MNCs) of telecom manufacture establish R&D centers in China, and the total amount of R&D payout is more than any other industry. It has affected the development of domestic telecom manufacture deeply. Therefore, the research on MNC R&D investment of telecom manufacture has great significance.In this background, this thesis focuses research on telecom manufacture MNC R&D strategy in China, combines MNC R&D global theories and technology spillover theories, and uses various research methodologies including empirical study, case study, and compare analysis. By analyzing from the view of spillover effect, R&D institute style, investment property, technology alliance, and so on, this thesis provides practical suggestions for China government and enterprises on how to meet opportunities and challenges brought by MNC R&D in China to develop domestic companies and improve technologies.In this thesis, all the economic modals are integrated into distinct features of telecom equipment manufacture. This thesis discusses specific issues arisen in telecom manufacture in China, employs representative cases for explaining and stretching important argumentations, and summarizes current scattered viewpoints, thereby getting systematic and integrated conclusions.
