The Efficiency Of Utilizations Of Foreign Investment In Western China

Since the 1990s, foreign direct investment(FDI) has been the main pattern of attracting foreign investment in China and the influence of FDI on our contry's economic development has receiced widely attention over the world. Prensently, there are many reseaches about the influence of FDI on the economic growth of China, while there are less reseaches about the influence of FDI, especially about FDI utilization efficiency in the western China. Therefore, under the circumstances of economic globalization and investment liberation, it's very important to research the efficiency of FDI and the main factors which influence the utilization of FDI in Western ChinaWith the theoretical analysis and empirical studies,comparison analytic, we do some reseaches from the different aspect on the efficency of FDI in the western China. Firstly, constructing the theoretical analysis frame of the paper on the base of reviewing the domestic and foreign related research literature in the foundation. Secondly, with the methods such as induction, deduction, empirical analysis, the paper studies the history of using FDI in the western China from the totalization of FDI, using the foreign capital rate of increment,utilization ratio, the foreign capital degree of dependency to analysis the efficiency of using FDI in western china, to calculate the efficiency index of using FDI. The result indicates that the efficiency of using FDI in1993 is the Maximum, In recent years the efficiency of using FID is enhancing with steady steps. The fourth chapter discusses the efficiency of using FID in western china from the industrial distribution of using foreign capital, difference between provinces and cities, the structure and the method with the comparison analytic method. The conclusion indicates that the efficiency of FDI is low in the primary industry, while it is high in the second industrial, though mainly concentrates in the manufacturing industry, and it is much different from the whole contry and other local disparities; The tertiary industry is in the development phase, and the efficiency of FDI is gradually enhancing. Between the provinces and cities in the western china, the efficiency of FDI is very different, but view from the chinese average level, they are all lower, and develops slowly. According to the economic development level, domestic investment condition, the level of opening and human capital, In the fifth chapter, the author analysises the factors which influence the efficiency of FDI, and applies the effects of the factors to empirical analysis. It indicates that the economic development level is the most important factor which influence the efficiency of FDI in western China. But the human capital in western china is below the normal level, which brings the negative influence to the efficiency of FDI.Besides, at the end of the paper, the author gives some advises on how to enhance the efficiency of FDI in western China, which include improving the economy development level, enhancing the human capital and causeing it to exceed the normal level and so on.
