Research On The Evolution Of Enterprise Core Competencies In The Internet Environment

As the widespread and adoption of Internet in global business activities, the strong trend of globalization, and the gradually indistinction of industrial limit and enterprises border, an unstable and changeable competitive environment has formed step by step. More and more evidences prove that the speed of enterprise regeneration or ageing is faster. In this occasion, enterprise will easily lose in the trap of competence, and the core competence built painstakingly is more likely to become core rigid. The ability to sort out the evolution of core competence has become a smart tool for an enterprise to get sustainable competitive advantages. However, there is no systematic analysis about how the core capability came to being and its evolution. So, it is valued and meaningful to analyze how the enterprises develop under the Internet circumstance. To find out the evolution mechanism of an enterprise in the Internet environment, this article spreads along this analysis line: core capability-evolution of core capability-the characteristics of Internet economy-the overall framework of the development of core capability under the Internet environment. At first, this article reviewed and commented on the related references of core capability and Dynamic capacity, to make clear the key problem and the main rules and trend, so that it points out the disadvantages among current analyses of core competence. On the basis of the above theory, this article gave the key problem and thinking method. And then this paper analyzed the functions affecting the development of core capability, evolution factors, and evolution models and so on. Finally, in the hope to search the essence of evolution of core competence, this article constructed a three-dimensional model which are "evolution of knowledgement-business model innovation-strategic choice", learning from and absorbing the analysis thinking method of evolution of enterprises, and additionally gave the verification of cases. To sum up, this article analyzed the evolution of enterprise core competence under the Internet circumstance from various aspects, including transaction cost economics, strategic management, economic characteristics of the Internet, business mode changes, so to offer enterprises some useful thoughts and management frameworks of reform in Internet environment, in order to promote their core capabilities and innovation.
