A Study On Strategy Of Urban Mergence Of Wangcheng County In The New Period

This paper selects Wangcheng County, the suburban county of Hunan's capital, as the study object to, based on the experience and lesson of urbanization of foreign suburban counties and the actual conditions of Wangcheng County and Changsha City, set forth a strategy suitable for the urbanization of Wangcheng County for the first time, viz. urban mergence strategy of Wangcheng County. And the paper comes to the following conclusions through the study:(1) with the attempt to bring out the concept of "urban mergence", it can be said that in the large, middle and small special dimensions there are different form of urban mergence for cities (or towns). And the Wangcheng County in this paper falls under the category of small scope in regard to urban mergence of suburban county. Also the author believes that urban mergence of suburban county will be a trend for the development of the suburban counties of large cities in China.(2) Systematically addressing the drive mechanism and influential factors of urban mergence of suburban county, the author believes that the drive can be classified in to four: central city drive, suburban county drive, city-county coupling drive and the influence of urban development environment, and the influential factors are: nature, economy, location, policy, land, technology, population, resources, system, ecologic environment and social psychology.(3) The paper gives a analyzes comprehensive analysis of the condition under which the strategy of urban mergence of Wangcheng County is to be implemented including the background characteristic of times, and deals with the necessity, possibility and the existing major restrictive factors, Therefore the urban mergence of Wangcheng County answers the call of the general trends of social & economical development..(4) The paper, from a global perspective of urban-suburban area, lays out the framework for the strategy of urban mergence of Wangcheng County with the future position and goal, and details the specific steps and development stages with a long-term strategic perspective for how the strategy is to be implemented.(5) And, the paper lays out the urban mergence strategy of Wangcheng County with pertinence for it, based on the actual conditions Wangcheng County and Changsha City gives a specific strategy for how Wangcheng County matches the development of central urban area from multiple industrial levels such as industry, traffic and logistics, tourism, real estate, information, service, and agriculture.
