At present, gas as one kind of high grade clean energy which utilization ratio already becoming the important index measuring a country economic development level.This paper analyzing the current situation of the natural gas development, including gas source general situation, gas supply and use condition in Xi'an. Judging from analysis of the past few year gas use situation, the gas consumption rises year by year and the increasing proportion is also big,; Judging from the analysis of gas consumer type, this data can be obtained that the resident consumer is basis of gas company consumer, heating gas-fired boiler is that consumer proportion accounting for is much in winter, gas direct-fired unit consumer proportion is less. According to characteristic of gas consumption each year, the high gas consumption appear in heating season even much more than used in summer, so that produce gas load unbalanced problem. The city there exists an obstacle in gas sustainable development.Based on the principle, characteristic and economy analysis of the gas direct-fired unit, can be illustrate adopt it to solve gas seasonal load leveling which not only balance the gas load between winter and summer but also beneficial to gas system operation, at the meantime release the state of over power load in summer. In one engineering, adopt gas direct-fired unit as air conditioning heat-cold sources, analyse and compare with other type of air conditioning heat/cold sources in first cost and operation expense come to a conclusion that the superiority gas direct-fired unit applying to the project. Because gas direct-fired unit consumers less in Xi'an, high gas consumption in heating season and gas supply surplus in without heating season, in the field of combined cooling heating and power (CCHP) suggest that adopt priority to selecting and using the combined cooling heating and power form giving first place to the gas direct-fired unit with the less building power load or appropriate heat-power load ratio in Xi'an.
