In the 17 & 18 centuries British society was in the period of transformation. With the widening of commodity economy, currency relations penetrated into different areas of society. The expansion of exchange increased the large demand for money. Money replaced land and became a symbol of social fortune and an important value criterion of social status. Possessing money nearly meant owning everything and even"paving the way to paradise for the souls."Credit facilities, national debt systems, bank networks and stock exchanges were set up in response to the demand for money one after another with the fast development of agriculture, industry and trade of Britain after half of the 17 century and the Glory Revolution. British modern financial systems began to take the shape of rudiment, which was called Financial Revolution by the later historians. British Financial Revolution changed the situation of the world history. An empire"where sun never sank"came into being and influenced the whole world. Human society launched the processes of passive modernization of different countries, regions and nations.British Financial Revolution was not only a big event in modern world history but also a milestone in world financial history.Now British Financial Revolution has not become an important research focus or hot issue in academic fields abroad. The study at home are just beginning which are not systematic not to mention deep research, it is a big pity. Up to now after China has entered WTO, the domestic financial system confronts being brought in line with international financial system and the immense competition with international financial counterparts. Using the shortcut for reference and research into the financial system of modern British in the period of the social transformation have inspiring influence on deepening our country's financial reform. On the basis of the research findings of the scholars'home and broad, the present researcher collected and analyzed domestic and foreign history materials, apply comprehensively the research methods of history and other relevant subjects, probe into the background, process and influences of modern British Financial Revolution with the hope of eliciting more research and complementing the existing research.
